I am currently Deputy Chair of Ngāti Tama Manawhenua ki Te Tau Ihu Trust, I was co-opted onto the Board in 2004, and was voted on as a General Trustee in 2010. I bring a youthful can do attitude to the board while ensuring accountability and transparency is mandatory.

My partner Maria and I, together with our three beautiful children, Tama, Kiriana and Meri, live on our lifestyle property in Wakapuaka, Nelson. I was educated at Golden Bay High before attending Lincoln University and gaining a Management degree.

I am currently employed by the Ministry for Primary Industries in Nelson as a Field Operations Supervisor for Nelson, Marlborough and Kaikoura. My role involves operational planning and supervision of 12 Compliance Officers in Fisheries, Forestry, Aquaculture and Animal Welfare. I have 12 years experience as a Fishery Officer, four of those as a supervisor. In that time I have developed strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work collaboratively with a group of people, and work under pressure to deliver results. I have an extensive knowledge of Fisheries and Aquaculture legislation and have a genuine interest in Fisheries management, particularly customary fishing having played a key role in establishing the Mohua Ki Te Tai Tapu Mataitai marine reserve on the west coast of Golden Bay. I have also put guidelines in place for our Kaitiaki who issue customary fishing permits to our people, to better manage our fisheries for future generations.
